The project

In Belize, the energy sector accounts for 57% of total GHG emissions, with over 80% coming from transportation. The project aims to develop a sustainable transportation system to reduce emissions, engaging policymakers, agencies, and the private sector, promoting e-mobility, skill development, and low carbon transport integration.

Our role

The provision of a comprehensive study addressing the nation’s energy sector, focusing on the reduction of GHG emissions in transportation. Through an all-encompassing extensive study incorporating and collaborating with numerous governmental bodies, private sector partners, and academic institutions allowing for the creation of competency standards, curricula, and training programs. Specific focus was put on Electric Vehicles, Low Carbon Transport and Charging Infrastructure, and the skills that technicians, fleet managers and first respondents need to be able to work safely with these vehicles and accompanying infrastructure.
