The project

The project involves EBRD potentially providing financing to the Republic of Moldova for the rehabilitation and widening of the M2 Chisinau ring road (section 2) and the rehabilitation of the M1 Chisinau to Leuseni road section. The project is part of the Eastern Partnership TEN-T Investment Action Plan, aiming to improve Moldova’s connectivity with the Trans-European Network for Transport. It supports the government’s efforts to maintain road quality for economic growth and regional integration.
Within the framework of this project, UNEEDIT will define the Pathway for EV transition up to 2050 in Moldova.

Our role

The activities of UNEEDIT are split into three Tasks:

  • Task 1: Characterization of the status quo of the EV market in Moldova.
  • Task 2: Pathway for EV transition up to 2050, including a scenario to achieve zero emission fleets by 2050. Four scenarios for EV penetration will be developed (low, central, and high penetration of EVs), with outputs for 2025, 2035, 2045, and 2050.
  • Task 3: EV charging infrastructure needs definition.
